There was a problem on entering the site, it seems to have been the shout box when it was loading. I have since put it in a pop-up down below in the left column. If you have any problems please drop me an e-mail and I will take care of the problem ASAP, thanks for your input.
The New Fonts area has been a bit slow putting up there are several pages now from A to Q. I needed a bit more space for the rest of the pages and a bit more room to grow, so I have decided to move the script pages to the new site at : zonedrifter.firewebx.com. The rest of the font pages should be uploaded over the next couple weeks.
The script pages are still here for now, in the Scripts area. The new site zone's Free Web Content is a content and help site. I have a few more generators, some scripts and downloads along with some snippets and a few excellent links to tutorials and webtools as well. I hope it proves to be a great place for webmasters and those of you who are interested in trying your hand at building a web site. We are hoping to have lots of interesting content as well as some interactivity and community spirit.
A Bit Of Information About This Site
Just a little info, this site is actually broken up into seven seperate sites. They are however all on the same server and with any luck should appear and act as one. If you should find any difficulty in navigating this site please feel free to e-mail us and let us know. We will attempt to rectify any problems you may encounter, thank you.
Webmaster's Corner
This is a new area in which will be placed any tips, tricks, tools etc. that I come across or have been sent, that could possibly help or otherwise be of interest and or value to webmasters. Many of these items in the future, will be mentioned here and a link supplied to a page or pages with more complete information. In most cases you will find a reference on the Scripts and Script Generator pages as well.
Search Engines
If you have a web page and expect people to visit your site, especially if you have a site that sells a product or service, then it is inperative that you begin to understand the search engine and how and what you need to do to get your site listed. Your site needs to be listed somewhere near the top so that people searching for items that you may provide, will see your sites name and or product. A search engine will only show a handful of results to any paticular search made and the ones on top are those that have spent the time to begin to understand the workings of the internets many search engines.
There are a great number of search engines on the internet, many of which specialize on only one or two topics. Others are more general and will return results on just about any topic you could emagine.
Not all search engines operate in the same manor, and therefore not only require different information input in order to use them successfully in a search, but also require, or perform better searches with different kinds of information found within the 'META TAGS' located in the top portion of a webpages HTML.
Search engines today are very fussy in what they require or look for during searches.There are searches being done by individuals on the internet like you and I, who will use certain words to find what we are looking for, and then there is the automated searches carried out by the engines themselves. When the engines go out to regularly gather information on sites in order to build up thier databases, they will rank these sites depending for the most part, on certain words and or phrases that are used, as well as in some cases what type of 'META TAGS' are used.
Today I would like to discuss something refered to as the 'Google Dance'. This is, in essence what they call it when about every thirty days or so Googles main engines will go out at the same time, and for three or four days they 'dance' together gathering as much information as they can on any sites that have correctly formatted thier 'META TAGS' in such a way that the Google search engines prefer. They will then rate these gathered sites acording to how the numbers show, or rather as to how you and I have placed our words and or phrases during our searches over the previous month or two.
