In April 2008, one of the world's most exciting tourism destinations will host the XII FINA World Masters Championships.

Challenge Stadium, in Perth, Western Australia has already been home to two FINA world championships and many world records. Now Challenge Stadium will host the best ever FINA World Masters Championships.

The events include the full range of FINA Masters aquatic disciplines:

  • Swimming
  • Diving
  • Water Polo
  • Synchornized Swimming
  • Open Water Swimming

All pools at Challenge Stadium are heated to a constant temperature of 26.5 degrees Celsius. Pool heating is provided using a geothermal heating system which pumps hot water from an underground aquifer 700m below the surface, then passing it through heat exchangers and returning it to the aquifer.

There are five pools that make up the Challenge Stadium Complex: an indoor eight lane pool, an indoor diving and synchronized swimming pool, an outdoor eight lane pool, an outdoor ten lane pool, and an outdoor wave pool.

  • Width: 21m
  • Depth: tapers from from 3m to 5m

    • 2 x 1m spring board
    • 2 x 3m spring board
    • 3m platform
    • 5m platform
    • 7.5m platform
    • 10m platform
