earthquake of January 12, 2010 devastated the already impoverished and
desperate nation of Haiti. Yet among the chaos there are rays of hope.
This video is a personal journey as I accompany a team from Vision Citadelle
- an NGO created by Haitian-Canadians - on a
post-earthquake tour of
their projects. Although small and tenuous, these projects demonstrate
possible steps toward recovery and self-sufficiency. There is
a
special focus on the work of Pastor Joseph Aristal who works with
children in Cité Soleil,
one of the poorest and most dangerous places on Earth.

Thousands of area residents lined the main streets of Belleville to gain a glimpse of the team members as the victory parade passed by. McFarland mania made this one of the greatest moments in Belleville’s sports history.
