Service and friendship combine for those who choose to serve on any of our committees.


Christian Development:

Provides opportunities for people of all ages to study, grow and develop in our Christain faith, including: Sunday and midweek youth and adult groups, and maintaining the church resource library. (Sunday school, nursery, Scouts and Guides, Hi-C, Youth Group, bible studies, etc.)

Communications:

In any relationship or organization, effective communication is a key -- to keep the congregation and community informed of the life and work of Grace United Church. As part of this effort, this committee oversees publication of Grace Notes, Annual Report, and special Sunday bulletin announcements.

Congregational Care and Growth:

 Promotes Christian care and fellowship within the congregation of Grace and the community. For example: welcoming and integrating newcomers, family and individual visitation; Care Givers, after-service fellowship time, distribution of Grace Notes, maintaining the Church role and records.

Finance:

Manages the financial affairs, i.e. the budget of the church, keeps records, manages all donations, and regularly communicates the financial health of the Church.

Lay Presbytery Representatives:

Grace United Church is a pastoral charge within Lambton Presbytery, which, in turn, is a part of London Confrence of the United Church of Canada. The Lay Presbytery representatives serve to communicate actions and activites of Grace to Presbytery and vice versa.

Outreach:

Provide leadership in focusing congregational awareness and support on social issues, mission activities and outreach opportunities in the community and the world. (Inn of the Good Shepherd support, Soup Lunches, Corn Project, Food Grains Bank, etc.).

Ministry & Personnel

Provide leadership in the care and oversight of the work of the church staff, helping to sustain a healthy relationship between the staff and the congregation.

Planning:

A special committee for those wishing to work towards building a vision for Grace and setting strategic priorities for the church and its committees.

Property:

Maintains our church building, the manse and the church grounds; manages custodial work and building security, and coordinates work parties.

Proclamation & Special Events

Proclamation Ministry fosters the identification, planning and implementation ofspecial events that will enhance the spiritual life and/or support the goals of GraceUnited Church.

Worship:

Covers all aspects of our corporate worship activities including: taping/video recording of services, ushering, greeting, serving communion, decorating the church, church music, and helping to coordinate special services.
