Professional and Mature Musicians

.....and we're totally hot chicks too.
Penny (aka PP)
Vocals, Bass, 12-String

Penny started her musical career at the at the tender age of 6.  She started taking music lessons at the Conservatory of Music, on the accordion. Yes, the accordion. She tells people this was because she could not take guitar lessons so young. She did eventually get to play guitar, and spent her teenage years playing "Rock Band" in the basement with her younger brother. As high school and college became a priority, Penny got away from playing music for many years. She went out to experience the world, and life in general. Lots of stories, most of which you wouldn't believe.

After a few years of traveling and "finding herself", Penny settled into the life of a responsible, professional young adult.

After years of forging a professional career and a mature and respectable life for herself, she picked up a guitar again.  Interestingly enough, she was back to playing "Rock Band" in the basement. Funny how life tends to come full circle. In addition to her musical contribution to
The Tryst, Penny is the only band member with a vehicle capable of hauling the band equipment.  A Volvo station wagon.  Perfect car for a rock star.
Joanne (aka GG)
Lead Guitar, Bass

Joanne was born and raised in the Hamilton, Ontario area.  Believe it or not, this is a farm girl from Flamborough. Rather than milking cows and doing chores during her teenage years, Joanne was very busy getting into trouble and playing guitar.  And she's still at it today.

Actually, she claims she is very responsible. To her credit, she hasn't been in prison in many years.

Joanne started playing guitar when she was quite young. She's been playing in basements, and jamming with whoever would join her, ever since. A natural talent, she also plays bass and drums, and dabbles with the harmonica, violin, and keyboards.  She's one of those people who just makes you sick. And her hair is always perfect.
Caitrin (aka SG)
Keyboards, Bass, Backup Vocals

At a very early age Caitrin demonstrated an interest in piano by placing her toys on the piano keys. Once her feet could reach the floor at the bench she started piano lessons. After all the years of classical training and earning a degree in music from Wilfrid Laurier University, she has joined a rock band.  You can only imagine how proud her parents are....

Caitrin allegedly is the 'know-it-all' of the group and pushes for the correct chords, tempo, and sound, but also likes to improvise. As the only trained musician of the group, she regularly says things like, "that note isn't in the chord" or "the chord is very remote from the key of the piece" or "what key are we playing in?". Such statements are generally met with blank stares from the rest of the band.

Playing with
The Tryst adds to Caitrin's already extensive musical experience. The dynamics of a rock band, especially one consisting entirely of totally hot chicks, is quite different from anything in her background.  Nonetheless, she fits in perfectly (being a totally hot chick herself).
Nina (aka BP)
Drums, Backup Vocals

Mild-mannered Professional Engineer by day, wild and crazy rock star drummer by night (.....well, mostly weekends). Originally from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Nina came to Ontario after university, and settled in the Hamilton area in 1999.

Nina gets her love of music from her mother's side of the family. Dad's side? No musical ability whatsoever. But that is where the interest in sciences came from, resulting in a career which supports her expensive Rock and Roll habit. Nina knew she had a knack for drumming at 16, but drum kits are not that common (.....or popular in dorms and apartment buildings), so she really didn't have the opportunity to develop the skill until several years later. After meeting Joanne, Nina quickly recognized that there was no way she could keep up on the guitar, and so it seemed like a good idea to try the drums again. Sure enough, it came very naturally, and Nina and Joanne logged more than a few hours in the basement "rocking out".

Nina's "day job" is more than a full time job, but playing with
The Tryst is an excellent balance in her life......  And the "wild and crazy rock star drummer" is a totally awesome alter-ego for a geeky P.Eng.
The Band
Based out of Hamilton, ON,
The Tryst is an all chick band playing primarily classic rock and pop rock. Five mature and responsible musicians, every one of them having a great sense of humour.

The band members all came together through their regular day jobs. Joanne has "recruited" most of the other members while working with them at some point in her career.  Those day jobs can sometimes lead to some pretty fun after-work activities.

Nina started working with Joanne in 2000, and they soon discovered they had several common interests.  The two have been playing together ever since - Joanne on guitar and Nina on drums.

Joanne started working with Penny in January 2006. After learning that Penny sang and played guitar, she was invited to jam with Joanne and Nina, and the three women started playing regularly, and formed
Insidious Tryst.

About The Tryst
Diana
Diana (aka CH, aka Cha Cha)
Lead Vocals, Backup Vocals

Diana was born and raised in Cali, Colombia - the city of Salsa (the Hot Dance). She doesn't recall when she began singing but, whether it was nature or nurture, her mother certainly encouraged her in this direction to try to appease Diana's constant desire for attention.

After high school, Diana began pursuing a psychology degree, but it became evident that she could not resist her musical calling. She moved to Ecuador and completed a BA in music and psychology.  She came to Ontario in the summer of 2007 to complete a Master's degree in music.  Diana's repertoire ranges from jazz to rock, and she is very open to new experiences.  Musical experiences, that is......

You would think a Latina lead singer in a Canadian rock band would have no problem maintaining a very unique identity, but at first glance, most people take Penny for the Colombian.  Diana's more likely to be noted as the hot blonde chick with the cute French accent.  Well, that accent and her great voice do make her stand out (...... and get her some of the attention she craves, just as her mother had figured).  Sadly, she continues to have to compete with Joanne's perfect hair, but that's just one of the struggles of being in a band of totally hot chicks.
In April 2007, Caitrin came onto the scene when she started working with Joanne. The three original members were quite excited to learn of Caitrin's musical background and education, and she was invited into the group adding a new dimension to the band with the  introduction of keyboards.

In the fall of 2007, Diana started taking piano lessons from Caitrin, and the two developed a symbiotic relationship when they started exchanging vocal and piano lessons. The band decided to ask Diana if she might be interested in singing with the group. The chemistry with the band was immediate, and after a single practice (and a few sips of Nina's secret and magic alcoholic potion), she was trapped into the hot weekly rendezvous (one might say weekly
trysts.....).
Insidious Tryst decided to shorten the band's name to The Tryst in the fall of 2007. This simpler version has a classic ring, but the real reason for the change was that the band's friends or families could never remember the original name.....
