This big image is a flow chart showing where Canada receives and burns its energy, as of 2003. Interesting how much petroleum Canada imports considering it is a net-exporting country!

That "biomass and other" line looks impressively thick, until you realize that it's largely the pulp-and-paper industry burning black liquor and wood chips, not some super-advanced cellulosic ethanol industry that Canada's been hiding.
