The Georgetown Bread Basket is one of the Outreach projects supported by St. Andrew's United Church.

The Georgetown Bread Basket is a registered not-for-profit community food bank. It is operated completely by volunteers from within the community. It is a member of the Ontario Association of Food Banks. The Food Bank collects and distributes non-perishable food to needy families and individuals in our community at no cost to them.

The Bread Basket is open Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9-12. New volunteers are always welcome. For more information about volunteering or about how to receive food please call 905-873-3368.

When making donations, please note that one continuing concern for parents of school age children is providing their children with nutritious lunches. This problem is compounded by the fact that most schools have a ban on peanut products (i.e. peanut butter) due to allergies. We would like to encourage church members to assist us in dealing with this situation by donating nutritious foods for children's lunches such as cheese whiz, pudding cups, fruit cups, nutri-grain bars, etc. Thank you.
