Redline Run was conceived by Al and Larry following six months of checking out
as many GTA bands and clubs as possible (what better excuse for two lifelong
friends to go out to bars...and often!). The original concept was to put
together three sets of Classic Rock — one each from the sixties, seventies and
eighties — but after realizing just how much great material there was from the
sixties alone, it became the sole focus and ultimately provided the band with
its unique identity. This commitment to ‘Music of the Sixties’ led them to
decide upon a two-guitar format, with an emphasis on really strong vocals. The
search began for the other members to complete the band while carefully
selecting songs that charted between January 1960 and December 1969.
Auditions began in the summer of 2005 and, while many talented musicians
turned out, it took the better part of a year for the band to find the right
combination of players and personalities before evolving into its current
line-up. Mario came onboard in January 2006, followed by Kevin in March and,
finally, Steve in June. One thing that will never change is Redline Run’s
commitment to faithfully covering classic songs and providing their audience
with a high-energy, exciting and entertaining evening.
