During land assaults by the Imperial Navy, each on-planet landing ship is equipped with several dozen AT-FT...All Terrain Field Transports. Used as a short range vehicle delivering units to the front, the AT-FT is capable of carrying a maximum of 4 Stormtroopers, 1 commander/artillery officer and one pilot. Loaded from the deck of the landing ship, the troops travel securely on the armoured platform with the only method of entry or exit in the field requires use of the powered winch.

Protected by 30mm tritainium plate armour and shield-guarded appendages, the vehicle is capable of resistng most small arms ground fire.

A plasma round artillery blaster is mounted to the aft of the platform, capable of hitting targets up to 20 km away.

The offensive capabilites are further bolstered by the direct-feed heavy e-blaster located in the 'chin' of the driver compartment.

Notes:

I started out to make a mobile artillery piece based on the basic shape of the AT-TE, but with a closer tie to the look of the AT-AT. Once I started to build it however, I thought the platform would look great with some troops on board.....bingo - a troop transport. I had fun with the small features such as the loading breech for the powercells at the base of th cannon and the extra cells behind the gunner; the shield generator 'ankles' on the rear legs. This is meant as a model more than a working set...the front legs are hinged but the rear are static.
