During the mining skirmish on Outpost 2002, the Ice Planet Defense Force (IPDF) called upon Toradoch Defense Systems to create an armed response to offworld ground hardware being imployed by the rogue miners. The result was the ISP Permafrost - a ground defense craft capable of great speed, multiple weapons delivery and long range. Using two Shaw&Whitney vectoring aerograv generators in combination with a vertical ion pulse array mounted in the fin, the Permafrost can skim the surface at speeds in excess of 800 kph. Using the retractable skis, the craft drops to a top speed of 220 kph, but increases it's range 10 fold.

The weapons include 2 neutrium 'slush' cannons, 4 autodeployed Shard mines and 2 hardpoints for independently guided, autonomous Snowpedoes.

The Permafrost remains the heaviest platform in the IPDF arsenal.
