I have admired Ch.Oakrun's Blue Jay of Paradym since he was a youngster- so when Kelly Wood told me of a litter sired by "Jay" to Sarah Kee and David Sproule's beautiful "Dante" - I jumped at the chance to look at the puppies.
It was love at first sight the day I met "Mr. Green" as that was the colour of his collar. Green is my favourite colour, and Andrew and Peter Green two of my favourite people. I thought it was meant to be. I held my breath that he would be my first Airedale.
In basketball the term for excellence is 'Got Game". Michael "Jordan" is the undisputed master of the game- so his names came easily. And so it began. Jordan was raised by my last Grandeur Afghan Hound. She had amazing patience as he dragged her everywhere by the ears, and found she was perfect to sleep on. This became challenging when he weighed more than she did!
Jordan picked up the show training quickly. I can honestly say I may not have continued if it wasn't for Margo Dupre's grooming lesson, presenting me with a knife suited for my hand, and the word's of wisdom to work his coat. My mentoring continued with Peter and Andrew Green, and Lotus Tutton. When we next entered the ring we hit the ground running. Jordan finished both his titles in short order. His show record speaks for itself- he was born to win and bred to succeed.
Jordan's favourite foods are pizza , Cheerios, and Timbits (he barks like crazy going through the drive thru). His favourite place is the living room window, surveying his domain. He still finds it necessary to run and jump in the tub on a daily basis, as there must be some show nearby that he has to get ready for. Jordan has the best sense of humour!
I am a police officer in Toronto. Jordan even apprehended a bad guy that tried to attack me on one of our morning walks.
I thank Kelly, Sarah and David every day, for the opportunity to be owned by Jordan. Most of all I'd like to thank my dog for making the dullest of days bright, and reminding me of what's important in life- love and happiness, both of which he gives me unconditionally.
