Jay. Paradym's "once-in-a-lifetime" dog. He has won just about every award possible for an Airedale; multiple All-Breed Best-In-Shows, Best Of Breed at Westminster (2000), Canada's National Specialty Winner (2000), two-time American National Specialty Winner ("The Bowl") including Best Of Breed at Montgomery County in 2000. He earned the rank of # 1 Airedale in Canada in 1998 (his puppy year) and again in 2001. In 1999, he was # 1 Airedale (Pedigree System) in the U.S. As an aging gentleman, Jay won Group First at Canada's Terrier Breeders Specialty in 2003, and his final foray into the ring as an 8 1/2 year old saw him take home the Best Veteran award as well as an Award Of Merit at Montgomery in 2005.
Jay's offspring have been out and winning at the most prestigious of shows. His sons, "Rogan" (Am. Can. Ch. Paradym Blue Blazes) and "Fionn" (Am. Can. Ch. Winsea Paradym Taircote Trvlr) were Airedale Terrier Club Of Canada's Specialty Best Of Breed Winners in 2001 and 2005 respectively. His son, "Jordan" (Am. Can. Ch. Paradym's Got Game) is a multiple Best In Show winner and was Canada's # 1 Airedale in 2005. His daughter "Rose" (Am. Ch. Greenfield Honeysuckle Rose) finished her American Championship on the extremely competitive Canfield Ohio specialty weekend in 2002. Another son, "Max" (Can. Ch.Copperfield's Redbrick Head) won a Group 1st his very first day in the ring! To date, Jay's Champion children number at 17, with many sporting Championship titles in two countries.
More than just a show dog with a great record, Jay is a super dog to have around. He is very affectionate with the people he loves, often insisting on attention by climbing up on a lap. He is game for just about any activity. He is a great "buddy" to Kelly and Mike and his Norwich terrier "Queenie", and is just an all-around cool dog!
