More about me...
I
graduated with a Bachelor of Science in
Nursing from McMaster
University (in Hamilton, Ontario) in
1991. McMaster was a great place to go
to school and I met many wonderful people
there, including Eric (who says you can't
date your TA!).
I
worked for a decade as a bedside nurse
in the Neonatal Nurseries (a combined Intensive
Care Unit - ICU - and Special Care Nursery)
at McMaster
Children's Hospital. Following this,
I acted as one of the unit's educators
for two years while also teaching at Mohawk
College in the Neonatal-Perinatal Post-RN
Nursing programme. I accepted an amazing
opportunity to start a new role as the
Data Management Specialist for the McMaster
Children's Hospital. I now work with local,
provincial, and national databases mostly
for the Neonatal and Pediatric ICU's and
provide benchmarking, quality improvement,
administrative, and clinical care support.
I
guess I liked going to McMaster University
so much that I decided to combine my two
passions (neonatal nursing and computers)
and went back to school to work on a Master's
degree. I am now finished my M.Sc. and
am surprised that I completed it before
Eric finished his Ph.D. |
