Report from Leo of Saturday October 29th: I am happy to report that Randy continues to make progress,
He has slightly longer periods of wakefulness and recognizes people and family. He told me this morning that the days
I am sure that once they are able to get him up and sitting with a reduction in the drugs he is taking for pain and
As soon as I hear that he is allowed to have general visitors I will let everyone know.

Monday November 21st; Randy's recovery continues. No backbrace. He is walking around. Talking to whomever comes to visit.
Tuesday November 29th, from Leo; Randy is continuing to make progress and there is no information at this time as to how much longer he will be in hospital,

RANDY BENN
Randy was in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday October 11, 2011. He struck a Mini-Van which pulled out in front of him.
He was taken by ambulance to Kingston General Hosptial.
He has been moved out of ICU and is now in a room on Kidd wing, His care nurse that I was talking with today
requested that I pass on to his friends that it would be best to wait till later next week before coming to visit
as they are trying to keep him as quite as possible. The doctors have decided to keep him flat on his back for a
couple of more days before getting him into the back braced and into a sitting position to ensure that the neck and
back factures are knitting they don’t want to take a chance on any of them cracking or worse yet breaking.
are long and he is bored with just lying there which unfortunately leads to his getting restless and trying to move around
which in the process he has pulled out some of his lines and monitor devises so when that happens they increase his medical drip
which puts him back into a sleep mode or very dozy.
to keep him less anxious things will progress quickly, He still has his sense of humor and actually told a joke and
poked fun at one of the nurses.
In the meantime if anyone wants to send his a card or an email they can send them to me at leopatry@kingston.net or mail the cards to

Tuesday November 8th; Randy is doing a lot better and is able to now have visitors so if anyone is in the area of the
Kingston General Hospital drop by say hello, the days are getting long for him and
having visitors will help break it up a bit. He is currently in room 442 Kidd wing but may be moved in the next couple of days
Randy was moved this morning from the K.G.H. to St Mary’s Of The Lake Hospital at 340 Union Street in Kingston,
St Mary’s is a rehab hospital and Randy will at this time be there for an undetermined length of time.
He is in room 204 and would welcome one and all that are able to come in to see him.
The days are starting to get rather long for him he is now in his seventh week of the hospital stay.
For those that are able to make it in to see him, a large Tim’s coffee would be appreciated as that is one of the things he misses the most.
the best answer I have been able to get is a guess of one month to several.
He is in room 204 Gibson wing of the St Mary’s of the Lake Hospital – 340 Union Street, Kingston,
and is allowed visitors, so if you are able to drop by and say hello please do so as the days are starting to get rather long for him.
I would suggest calling him 613-540-2784 before you go in as he goes for therapy two to three times a day and he can usually give you the times
he will be away so that you don’t miss him on your visit.
Large coffee with a couple of milk on the side is always appreciated
