Overall, 2005 has been a
good year for us. We
enjoyed a lot of short and day trips in
Canada and we had a particularly fun trip to
Brazil as well as a lovely visit with our
son Trevor, Tammy & our granddaughter, Kylie, in
Alberta.
Don & Brenda came over from
England to join us for our March trip to
Brazil and after the trip spent an
additional ten days with us. Our June
flight to Alberta and subsequent trip to the
Rocky Mountains for a few days was
wonderful. Our granddaughter, Kylie, was
two and a half years old then so it was so
much fun to be able to play and get to know
her a little bit. It was just the
second time we had been with her. We keep in touch and get
to see her grow via the computers web cam.
Kylie had her 3rd birthday on
Dec. 10th.
Our youngest son, Graham,
now has a cottage just an hour and a half
away so we spend as much time as we can
there, during the good weather. Our summer
was an extremely hot one this year and a
couple of times we had to come home to the
air conditioning as the heat was just
unbearable. .
In August Roger had,
successful, cataract surgery and is quite
surprised at how clear his sight is now. He
took the challenge to learn to read music
this year and to play the tuba. He has just
joined a Barbershop Harmony Group so will be
enjoying his love of singing in the new
year.
We both try
to keep a positive attitude despite the
aches and pains associated with aging and we
are doing our very best to age gracefully.
Shirley has even taken some “Laugh Yoga”,
there’s nothing like a good laugh!
To each and every one of you we wish good
health, prosperity and happiness in 2006.
