Many of our studies involve
the use of liposomes. We are interested in
the phenomenon of liposome fusion, the
enhacement of liposome fusion with
the use of fusion peptides and the
facilitation of membrane translocation of
DNA with cationic amphiphiles. These areas
are related to medical technology
of liposomal drug delivery and for
lipofection. One of our cationic
amphiphiles
has proven to be particularly effective and
is currently in clinical trials for
gene
therapy.
