It's always a dilemma as to how much to tell a stranger about yourself. Oh well, I will throw caution to the wind and tell you...
What you need to know:
As of February 1, 2009, I have officially retired from my teaching career after 30 years. However, I will continue to maintain the site for as long as possible.
I was a teacher/librarian in a small high school near Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. In my 30+ years I taught English, history, art, drama, special education and communications technology.
Before being a teacher I got a diploma in photography from Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario and worked as a photographer for a major weekly Toronto area newspaper. After three years I was getting pretty sick of that and then I won a national sports photography award and decided to quit. Alas, I quit just about the same time as our cartoonist and illustrator did. I went to Guelph and Queen's and became a teacher and the artist, Jim Unger, went on to become fabulously wealthy and famous as the man behind the cartoon Herman. He is the one famous person I know whose name I can drop into almost any conversation.
