These programs, in their unregistered state, are considered to be Freeware! Shareware implies that a previewing time limit (for example 30 days) has been approved by the author after which the user must legally purchase a licence to use the program or stop using the program completely. These programs have no such time limit. You may use the programs as long as you like in their unregistered Freeware state in accordance to their accompanying licence agreements. If you would like to use the additional features, (features that would be more useful to those making heavy use of the programs or for running businesses) you must pay for a licence. If the programs were public domain, they would be free to use, distribute ect... with no restrictions. THESE PROGRAMS ARE NOT PUBLIC DOMAIN. Make sure you read their accompanying licence agreements. Programming languages are very expensive. The fees are to recoup the costs involved in keeping the languages up to date and for computer maintenance (e.g. I went through 3 hard drives in the course of writing these programs), not to mention the countless number of hours researching and writing code. The fees are mostly to target those who are making money through the use of my programs. It is morally right to give the author payment where payment is due. |
