Sacraments of First Communion & First Reconciliation

Religious education in the Catholic schools for the Sacraments of First Communion and First Reconciliation occurs in grade 2. Reception of the Sacraments should take place in the parish to which you belong and where you regularly attend Mass.

Children attending Public Schools should contact the Parish Office at the beginning of the school year for religious education material.

Children are encouraged to participate in the Junior Liturgy program at the 9:30 and 11:30am Sunday Masses.

Important Dates

Saturday or Sunday, February 11 or 12, 2012 - Enrolment Ceremonies
Candidates will present a decorated 3"x5" name card to Father John during any one of the three Sunday Masses. These cards will be put on a banner in the Atrium of the church. Attendance at an enrolment ceremony is compulsory.

Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 4:00 pm or 7:00 p.m. - Parish Lenten Confessions
Candidates will celebrate their First Reconciliation in preparation for their First Communion. Confessions also on the Saturdays of Lent (February 25, March 3, 10, 17, 24) at 4:30pm.

Monday, April 16, 2012 - All Day Retreat
All First Communion candidates will gather at the Parish Centre for a day of spiritual reflection, getting to know one another, rehearsal and fun.

Sunday, April 8, 2012 - Easter Sunday - First Communion with Family

Sunday, May 13, or May 20, 2012 - Solemn First Communion Ceremony

Parents are reminded to return the form indicating their preference as soon as possible.

Sacrament of Confirmation

Religious education in the Catholic schools for the Sacrament of Confirmation occurs in grade 7. Reception of the Sacraments should take place in the parish to which you belong and where you regularly attend Mass.

Important Dates

Saturday or Sunday, February 18, 19, 2012 - Enrolment Ceremonies
Candidates will present a decorated 3"x5" name card to Father John during any one of the three Sunday Masses. These cards will be put on a banner in the Atrium of the church. Sponsor information should also be submitted at this time. Attendance at an enrolment ceremony is compulsory. Candidates who fail to be enrolled will be asked to present a letter to Father John outlining why they wish to be confirmed.

Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 4:00 pm or 7:00 p.m. - Parish Lenten Confessions
Candidates are asked to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation in preparation for their Confirmation. Confessions also on the Saturdays of Lent (February 25, March 3, 10, 17, 24) at 4:30pm.

Monday, April 23, 2012 - All Day Retreat
All confirmation candidates will gather at the Parish Centre for a day of spiritual reflection, getting to know one another, confirmation rehearsal and fun. More information will be sent out to candidates in the spring.
