Meetings:
Our meetings are held usually on the third Monday of the month following
the 7pm Mass, which is offered for the intentions of the Catholic
Women’s League members. The meetings consist of prayer and spiritual
reflection, information, perhaps a guest speaker, and always fellowship
and treats.
Membership:
Our membership drive is in the fall. We encourage all women of the
Parish to join. The cost is $17 and $10 for those 70 years of age and
older. We realize that not all members can attend meetings and be very
involved in the work that the Catholic Women’s League does in the
community, but your membership is still important. At the National level
the Catholic Women’s League has a great deal of influence because it is
an organization that represents so many women from coast to coast. The
National Executive is often sought out and is listened to by the policy
makers of our Country. So it is important to add your name to those
numbers. The membership campaign is in November, and there is an
envelope for that purpose in with your Holy Rosary Parish envelopes.
However, you can join at any time. Call Cecile Flynn or Maureen
Vincentine.
President’s Message:
We are very proud of the work being done by our group of Catholic

Through generous donations and fundraising, we were able to support the

Peace, Pro Life, CWL National Bursary Fund, Bishop Pappin Fund,
Diocesan Hope Fund, St. Vincent de Paul, Almost Home, Three Oaks, Camp
Trillium, Canadian Jesuits International (Opportunity Village), Sleeping
Children around the World, Campaign Life Coalition, Bursaries fund

members of the CWL, Sponsorship of a child in India, Birthright, local
refugee families.
As you can see from our many activities and programs, the Catholic
Women’s League plays an integral role in the life of our parish and also
of our community. We try to provide opportunities to enrich our own
lives spiritually through prayer, reflection, and opportunities for
retreats. We know too that our lives are further enriched through our
service to others, as is said in our Mission Statement.
I encourage you to watch for our notices in the Holy Rosary bulletin,
and come join us in whatever endeavor interests you. Call any member of
the executive if you need further information.
May our patroness, Our Lady of Good Counsel, continue to guide us in all
that we do.
