Belleville General Hospital Patients: Many new regulations apply to visits by your Parish Priest. Because of privacy laws, the Hospital is prevented from disclosing information about patients unless the patient gives consent. Therefore, at the time of admission, you must state your willingness to have your name on the clergy list. Please advise the Parish Office if you know you are going to be a patient in the hospital, or if a family member is in hospital.

Junior Liturgy: A Junior Liturgy Program is offered at the 9:30 & 11:30am Sunday Masses for children JK to grade 4. This week's team: 9:30am: Adrian & Sharon; 11:30am: Paula & Michelle. Note: there will be no Junior Liturgy next weekend due to the celebration of Solemn First Communion. For more info, call Ron Terpstra 613-966-7500.

Solemn First Communion: Next weekend at all the Masses, young people from the Parish will be celebrating their Solemn First Communion. Please note that there will be several pews reserved in the centre section.

CWL News: Our next general meeting is May 14. Our CWL will be hosting a cake and ice cream reception following Confirmation on May 19. Please pray for a successful CWL Convention in Kingston this weekend. Four mats have been competed by the Grade 8 students of Holy Rosary School from milk bags donated by Parishioners. These mats are being sent to Countries in need of disaster relief. Thanks to all who supplied these bags and please keep them coming! CWL Questions? Call Margie Royle at 613-962-1660.

Secular Franciscans: The Secular Franciscans of Holy Rosary Fraternity will meet this Monday, May 7 at 7:30pm here at Holy Rosary for ongoing formation and sharing. Visitors are welcome.

Free Volunteer Criminal Records Check Clinic: Tues, May 8 (12-4pm) and Tues, May 22 (4-8pm) at the Children's Safety Village behind the Belleville Police Service Building. If you are interested in serving a high trust volunteer position at Holy Rosary Parish, the record check is mandatory before you begin your duties. Diocesan Events

Archbishop Brendan O'Brien: On Sunday, June 24, all parishioners are warmly invited to a special celebration of Archbishop O'Brien's 25th Anniversary of Episcopal Ordination and his 5th Anniversary as Archbishop of Kingston. Mass will be celebrated at 3pm at St. Mary's Cathedral, followed by a reception on the Cathedral lawn. In recognition of the Archbishop's milestone anniversaries, this year's collection for the Education of Seminarians (Priests) will be taken up in his honour on the weekend of June 16/17. The proceeds of the collection will be presented to Archbishop O'Brien at the Anniversary Mass on June 24. Our generous support of this important collection will be a fitting tribute to the Archbishop's tireless efforts to support our seminarians and encourage vocations to the priesthood.

Flores De Mayo: The Filipino Canadian Community is celebrating the 7th year of Flores de Mayo Sunday, May 20 at St. Joseph's Church, Kingston - Rosary at 3pm; Mass at 3:30pm. All are welcome. A reception follows.

Canadian Conference of Catholic Cursillos: The annual conference will be held this year in London, Ontario from June 21-24. All Cursillistas are welcome whether active or not. Conferences are a time to go deeper into understanding the Cursillo movement, meet and/or reconnect with friends from across the country and take home a wealth of information to share with your local movements. Catholic Education Week: Catholic Education Week 2012 will be celebrated from May 6-11. This year's theme Catholic Education: Walking in the Light of Christ finds its biblical source in the Gospel of John where Jesus proclaims, "I am the Light of the World" (John 8:12) and we read in Psalm 119, Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105). During this week our schools will be celebrating the enduring gift of Catholic education with special prayers and presentations. We ask that the Parish community pray for our Catholic Schools, that they may continue to bear witness that they strive to walk in the Light of Christ.

Holy Rosary School: Family Games Night will be held this Thursday, May 10 from 5-8pm. Bring the family for some food, fun and games! $10/family.

March for Life: The National March for Life will be held in Ottawa this Thurs, May 10. Quinte Right to Life is organizing a bus at a cost of $20, leaving the back of the Quinte Sports Centre at 9am with an approx return between 6:30-7pm. Bring a bag lunch. St. Michael's Parish: Parish Mission "Meeting God in the Upper Room" with Father Ben St. Croix, Companions of the Cross and the ministry of the consecrated women of the new religious community, The Queenship of Mary. Monday, May 7- Thursday, May 10 at 7pm each night. All are welcome.

New Life Group: The New Life Group meetings for the separated and divorced are discontinued until the fall.

Wolfe Island Day Camp 2012: The camp is open to children 5-12 years and begins the week of July 3. Activities include swimming, sports, games and crafts. Weekly trips include Bowling, Buskers, Movie, Playtrium, Lazer Tag, Pirate Adventure in Mooneys Bay and Grass Creek.
