Shortly after meeting Princess Diana I began my hobby of collecting royalty
related items. I started with newspapers (all sealed in non acidic plastic
protectors), and then books, tins, china, postcards, and finally pinbacks.
For those of you that are not familiar with pinbacks I will explain. Since
the late 1800's the major royal events (coronations, deaths, marriages etc)
have been commemorated in many ways. One of those ways is in lapel pins
which usually feature a picture and date, and sometimes a description of
the event being commemorated.
My pinback collection includes items from many different royals, including
the following: King Edward VII & Queen Alexandra; Queen Victoria; King
George V & Queen Mary; King Edward VII; King George VI & Queen Elizabeth
(the Queen Mum); Queen Elizabeth II & Prince Phillip.
I am constantly searching for new items for the collection, and enjoy meeting
many people at antique shows, auctions, and antique stores.
I would also like to mention Ernie Basciano who was kind enough to do all
of the photography for this site. For more of his work, please see Basciano
Photography in the "links" section.
I credit my parents Gerald and Donna for getting me started in royalty collecting
and supporting my goals, not just in collecting, but in life in general.
