The
vast majority of the work I have done as a systems integrator and systems
analyst is the day to day PC maintenance. Unfortunately I know far too
well how to rescue an unbootable Windows PC, and how to get rid of viruses
when the client never ever bought any AV or didn't update it. In as much
as clients need to update or keep themselves up to date, I too find much of my
time being spent learning new technologies, and upgrading my current skill
set. My IT skills reflect a lifelong effort cultivating and developing
business and industrial knowledge from the workplace, with my personal quest
for new technological knowledge.
I
also have experience with listening to clients and presenting them with
options and solutions to deal with their unique requirements. I have
worked with companies from a one-man operation up to Fortune 100 corporations
and can deal with the different challenges these clients can bring to the
table. I always pitched myself as a cradle to grave sort of solution
provider. I am not just pre-sales, or sales, or an integrator, or a post
installation help desk person; I can identify the problem, implement the
solution, and maintain the configuration, or as I have learned over time,
communicate, coordinate, and manage.
My
years working in production have instilled a need to actually produce
something at the end of the day. My supervisory skills have allowed me
to coordinate multi faceted projects for clients, with the ability to jump in
and continue where others have stopped. I have lots of experience even
on good projects gone badly, to reflect a positive attitude, be adaptable, to
be safe and responsible with corporate assets, and to lead the team and
turn the project around. A good example of this is that I have been on
the build team for the InterOpt trade show working in the NOC for the big show
in Las Vegas. Every member of the team that gets thrown together to
build the show must systematically apply their knowledge to effect changes in
a time critical manner. More importantly they must have the personal
management skills and the discipline to work as a team, towards a goal. That
is especially important in the NOC and that is where I worked.
I
have consulted with wholesale, retail, manufacturing, and service businesses,
in both horizontal and vertical marketplaces. I feel comfortable working
with any of these business types as a Systems Analyst or Computer Consultant. I
feel it may also be time to move on into either a straight sales or technical
sales position, or to utilize my supervisory and management skills with just
one company. I am in a position to bring growth to your business by way
of exciting and proven techniques including but not restricted my ability to
communicate, manage information, use numbers, and to think and solve problems.
