St. Catharines is a town in the township of Grantham, situated on the Welland Canal, thirty-six miles from Hamilton and twelve miles from Niagara. The town is beautifully situated, having a fine view for a considerable distance of the Welland Canal and surrounding country. It is a place of much trade. (from the 1946 Smiths Canadian Gazelteer)

From his obit in the Thorold Post Oct 24, 1929

Harry Dunn, well known Taxi driver, died suddenly at work. Once a memeber of the local police force, he succombed to a heart attack, similar to that of his brother Fred, 16 years earlier. He was born in St. Catharines, and moved to Thorold at age 4.

The funeral of the late John Henry Dunn was held yesterday afternoon from williams Undertaking Parlors tp St. John's Church many friends and neighbours attending the service which was conducted by the Rev. A Ireland.

Many lovely flowers were recieved and surronding the casket in the funeral parlors.

The pallbearers were: Percy Boyle, Charles Martin, Joseph and Addie Martin, John Dale, Alex Martin.

Among the relatives atteding were Mr. and Mrs. W Foster and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Foster of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Mrs G Foster of Vineland and Mr. A. Smerdon of Stamford.
