Originally formed in early 1986, between May 1986 and October 1997 they performed hundreds of times around the UK and abroad, played at numerous festivals, and toured Europe three times, as well as hosting their own game show. MDHNN have been featured on BBC Radio 1 FM and on BBC Radio Five Live, as well as in countless local radio sessions and interviews. They released two official CDs, as well as several tapes in the early days, and there is a compilation/remix CD planned for the future. Dem formally joined the band, as lead guitarist, in the summer of 1992 after originally standing in as a session musician whenever either the guitarist (Grant) or the bassist (Khal) were unavailable. Dem was soon able to add a new dimension to the music by adding mandolin and accordion to the band's sound.
