



EXPERTISE: Dr. Coakley's long career in Environmental Earth Science
has covered distinct areas such as petroleum geology, sedimentology, coastal
processes, Quaternary geology, arctic geomorphology, and sediment contaminants.
He is best known for his work on tracing the fate and transport of contaminants
in aquatic ecosystems through the sediment phase in the Canadian Great
Lakes. He obtained the Ph.D. in Earth Sciences at the University of Waterloo,
M.Sc. (Sedimentology) at the University of Ottawa, and B.Sc. at St. Francis
Xavier University, all in various parts of Canada. He has worked for more
then 30 years as a research scientist in the Canadian public service, in
the field of environmental earth science. He speaks and writes fluent French,
Spanish, and Norwegian, and reads Swedish, Danish, Portuguese and Italian.
EXPERTISE: Dr. Elliott is a recognized expert in modelling the
fate of industrial and municipal effluents released into coastal waters.
He has developed and used computer-based mathematical models and simulation
methods for dealing with a wide variety of environmental, engineering and
physics problems. Dr. Elliott obtained a Ph.D. degree in Nuclear Structure
Physics from the Australian National University, and a B.Eng. in Engineering
Physics from the University of Saskatchewan. He worked for more than 20
years with a major power generating utility in Canada and is familiar with
most issues related to power generation (nuclear and thermal) and environmentally-sensible
processes for effluent disposal.

EXPERTISE: Dr. Bisson has worked for over 20 years in various
environment-related fields, and has acquired particular expertise in toxic
chemicals management and water quality monitoring. His work as a scientist
and science administrator with the Canadian government and UN-sponsored
agencies has taken him all over the world, from France and the francophone
countries of west Africa to Mexico where he has advised NGO's and local
governments on water management. He received a Ph.D. in Chemistry from
the University of Western Ontario (Canada); his B.Sc. was from Université
de Montréal. He is totally fluent in English and French, and is
functional in Spanish. He is responsible for translations into French from
English and Spanish.

EXPERTISE: Arne Heggen brings to Nor-word a lengthy experience
in the field of plastics and commercial polymers. As Marketing Director
for a large Norwegian distributor of plastic and glass-fibre products for
many years, he has travelled to most major cities of Europe and North America.
In addition to his native Norwegian, Mr. Heggen is completely fluent in
German and French and functional in Swedish and Danish. He is a graduate
in Commerce of Norges Handelshøyskole in Bergen, Norway.

EXPERTISE: Tordis Heggen has worked as a professional in the field of social work and vocational rehabilitation for many years; she is presently a adjudicator with a major agency of the province of Ontario. Ms. Heggen graduated from the Social Work program at Mohawk College and continued her studies in Sociology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada. She is fluent in Norwegian and Swedish. program at Universidad Católica Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic),

EXPERTISE: Tom Beese graduated in mechanical engineering from

and large turbine-based systems in power co-generation. He was worked in
the Middle East, Mexico, and North America. Though unilingual English,

a senior student at a major university in Ontario, Canada, majoring in

EXPERTISE: Michel has worked for many years in Canadian industry,
