Update: Third method for "LocatingX" page in spreadsheet. The Vms speed can be found by establishing a partial power glide where the power is somewhat below what would be needed for level flight. At this power setting, the airspeed that produces the minimum sink as measured by GPS is the Vms. Verification can be done as already described. CAUTION: There is an error in
the older spreadsheets that makes TAS computations wrong above 10,000. I will fix it soon. |
