I was born in the Netherlands.
I have two wonderful children. During the last 20 years, working and experimenting
with smoke-fired porcelain has been my passion.
Archaeologists generally agree that the earliest pottery probably developed by accident. Early man's observation of the way earth baked around fire pits may have led to the experimentation of firing clay pots. Although smoke-firing dates back more than 10,000 years (shards found in Japan), I have specialized in adapting primitive clay smoke-firing methods to finely burnished porcelain.
