DRAGAN MAKLENOV

His first dancing steps he started in Cultural Artistic Organization "Abrasevic" - Pancevo.
After 6 successful amateur years spent in the amateurism, April 17th 1973. passes the audition for Ensemble of National Songs and Dances of Serbia "KOLO" - Belgrade. Since then he starts his professional carrier dedicated to folklore and national songs.
In Ensemble "KOLO" he was soloist dancer and soloist singer.
I the mean time he worked as an artistic leader of Cultural Artistic Organization "Abrasevic" - Pancevo, artistic leader towards cultural organizations: Omoljica, Banatski Brestovac, Ivanovo.
His professional career in Ensemble "KOLO" finished in December 1993. with 1178 concerts under his belt.
Behind his folklore work in Belgrade he left few everlasting songs with National Television orchestra of Serbia from Belgrade under the leadership of Branimir Djokic.
With the garanty of SFA "KOLO" - Hamilton Canada, he comes to Canada and becomes cultural director of SFA "KOLO" - Hamilton as well as coreografer and cultural director of CSO St. Otac Nikola at Barton - Hamilton.
Dragan takes the management of folklore groups under CSO St. Sava Serbian ceter in Mississauga.
In the mean time he teaches folklore groups in Niagara as well as his private group "Srbijanka", which is founded in 1996.
He worked as an artistic director of SKUD "Oplenac" as well as in Kichiner and Deleware.
In the fall of 1999. he establishes an orchestra which consists of professional musicians with experience from Serbia.
