Summer AzureSummer Azure
Size - 20 to 30 mm.
On the wing - Mid June until September.
Range - Primarily southern Ontario but scattered to the east and west.
Host plants - Larva feed on bushes such as Vibernum, Dogwood and Spiraea.
Favourite habitat - Open woodlands and fields.
Special notes - Not to be confused with the Spring Azure. As the name indicates the flight season of the two are different. It is possible for the two species to briefly overlap in June.
