Orange SulphurOrange Sulphur
Size - 35 to 55 mm.
On the wing - May until October.
Range - Coast to coast, accept Labrador, and most of the US.
Host plants - Alfalfa ...... hence it's other name "Alfalfa Butterfly".
Favourite habitat - Adults like open fields, visit flowers regularly and enjoy mudpuddling.
Special notes - There is also a white form of this butterfly that is fairly common but it is most common in the spring and fall.
