Size - 30 to 40 mm.

On the wing - May until June and again in August and September.

Range - B.C. to New Brunswick and Labrador.

Host plants - Violets.

Favourite habitat - They can be found in a wide variety of habitats.

Special notes - It's tell tale squared off wing tips are the best identifying feature. Adults are attracted to nectaring on yellow flowers.
