Juvenal's Duskywing

Size - 30 to 40 mm.

Flight season - Early May until the end of June having on brood per year.

Range - Eastern Canada and US.

Host plants - Red, Black and White Oak.

Habitat - They prefer damp open areas.

Special notes - This is a wary butterfly that can be hard to approach. When frightened off they will frequently return to their roost. Larvae live in leaf nests.
