Keep in mind that this is an imaginary
outline and measurements are dependent on your field site. You might have to get yourself
some additional accessories to suit the needs of the different situations you might
encounter. I.E.: bungie cords, aluminum tent poles and pegs. If equipment and situation
doesn't lend itself to this optimum setup you can always set the sheet up flat and not in
the "U" configuration. Just keep the UV light approximately 30 cm/12 in to 45
cm/18 in. away from the sheet for best results.
You can also blacklight without using a sheet
by just suspending the blacklight from a branch. Moths will be attracted in the same way
but just choose to land in trees or bushes in the vicinity of the light. I prefer to use
the sheet for the obviously superior viewing but if circumstances don't permit this is a
suitable alternative.
