Columbine Duskywing

Size - 20 to 30 mm.

On the wing - Early May until mid June and again from early July until early August.

Range - Primarily in southern Ontario with a few scattered colonies to the east and west. Also found in the northeastern US.

Host plants - Aquilegia

Favourite habitat - Open areas close to ground.

Special notes - Two broods per season. Second brood larvae overwinters. Adults visit flowers and mud puddles.
