Cabbage White

Size - 30 to 45 mm.

On the wing - April to October.

Range - Coast to coast in Canada and US.

Host plants - Members of the mustard family.....cabbage, cauliflower.

Favourite habitat - Open fields but can be located in virtually any habitat.

Special notes - This butterfly was introduced into North America in the mid 1800's in Quebec. You don't need to be an expert to see that it had adapted very well. No other butterfly can boast the success and adaptability of the Cabbage White. This butterfly is one of earliest returning migrants.
