Size - 25 to 30 mm.

On the wing - End of June until mid August.

Range - Lower latitudes of Alberta to Nova Scotia.

Host plants - Willow.

Favourite habitat - Damp open areas.

Special notes - Adults are often found on milkweed near willow it's host plant. It is one of the largest Hairstreaks and has a distinguishing row of black spots on the underside of wing.
