Size - 30 to 35 mm.
On the wing - mid June until mid August
Range - Primarily southern Ontario, Ottawa area and below, as well as northern central and eastern US.
Host plants - Broad leaf sedges.
Favourite habitat - Damp areas will vetch and milkweed.
Special notes - This butterfly is a weak flier staying very close to the ground.
