Religiously Speaking first started as an idea which Lorne Tyndale and Lesley Horton developed for a weekly, one-hour radio show on CJAM 91.5 FM focusing on religious issues. From the original programme proposal:
Throughout each show, there will be an emphasis to show that there is not any one specific "correct" approach to religion or spirituality, but rather religion and spirituality encompasses a wide variety of beliefs, traditions, and practices. Religiously Speaking is hosted by Lorne Tyndale and airs each Friday from 4-5 PM Eastern Standard Time on CJAM 91.5 FM in Windsor, Ontario. CJAM can be heard on the web through MP3, feel free to Listen In! Each week on the show we spend about 45 minutes to look at a topic of current interest from a religious perspective. Sometimes this is surrounding an issue, practice, recent decision, or news item of public importance. Sometimes this is a focus on a particular religious faith. Always we try to balance the approach, respective of the variety of religious viewpoints and faiths. The last 15 minutes of the show consists of a brief rundown of the week's religious news events from around the world.
