This page explains who the RPGA is, and what link they have to Living Greyhawk.
What does RPGA stand for?
RPGA is the acronym for Role-Playing Game Association.
What does RPGA do? RPGA was formed in 1980 to provide fair and balanced events at D&D tournaments and conventions. Nowadays, RPGA is the roleplaying arm of organized play at Wizards of the Coast, and is dedicated to providing play opportunities and support for D&D and other d20 System games. One of those opportunities is the shared campaign of Living Greyhawk.
How do I join RPGA? Joining is fast & easy. All you have to do is go to any RPGA-sanctioned event--such as a Living Greyhawk convention, a game day or even a Ket adventure being played at home. The DM or event organizer will have a short application form attached to an RPGA membership card.
- Fill out your name, address, etc. on the application
- Detach and keep the membership card--it has your unique RPGA number.
- Give the application form back to the DM or drop it in the nearest mailbox (with enough postage to get to the States.)
Congrats! You are the latest RPGA member! Remember to bring your card to all RPGA events--you'll need your RPGA number.
What are the benefits of RPGA membership? There are several benefits to becoming an RPGA member.
- It's the only way you can take part in the Living Greyhawk campaign. That's right--no membership, no Ket adventures.
- You can enroll in the RPGA Awards Program for free swag. Once you've signed up, RPGA will keep track of how many Living Greyhawk Adventures you've played (and how many you've judged, if you become a DM). Four times a year, they add up your points, and if you've earned enough, they send you swag. It won't get you a free flight to Hawaii, but as every gamer knows, swag is swag...
- You become eligible to play in RPGA's other Living Adventures: such as Mark of Heroes (Eberron), Xen'drik Expeditions (Eberron), and Living Force (Star Wars RPG).
- You get your own webpage on the RPGA website that will track your RPGA Reward Points and allow you to order adventures for home play if you are a Herald-level DM. Just log on with your RPGA number to access this page. (If you've just joined, give them a couple of weeks to add your number to the system.)
