Performed by La Monte Young : Voice and Sine-Wave Drone Marian Zazeela : Voice Terry Riley : Voice ?
Recording source unknown. Likely recorded early 1969 after La Monte Young reformed The Theatre of Eternal Music, but before adding Jon Hassell sometime in 1969. It appears there are a number of voices although difficult to ascertain how many, but there are certainly more than La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela present on this recording. If this recording was after 1966, then it would not include Terry Riley and the additional voice or voices would belong to other singers.
It is also possible that this recording dates back to 1966, just prior to La Monte Young temporarily disbanding The Theatre of Eternal Music. This piece was first composed in 1966, so it is possible. If this is so, it is likely that the additional voice belong to Terry Riley. It is unknown whether La Monte Young had started utilizing the Moog synthesizer in 1966 to provide the sine-wave drone present on this recording. |
