Recorded April 2-3, 1964 at La Monte Young’s studio in NYC.

From a 1990 Florida FM radio broadcast with a live interview with La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela.

Apparently this performance was an audition arranged by John Cale for the director of Tanglewood

in an unsuccessful attempt at getting The Theatre of Eternal Music into that year’s program.

The two dates listed are because it was a late evening performance that ran over midnight and into the next day.

 

Augmented with an unauthorized LP entitled “The Theatre of Eternal Music” from 1995

as the radio broadcast had some flaws and was also cut short.

Probably also broadcast during the 1984 WKCR FM 24 hour retrospective.
