The Cottage

My Grandmother owns a cottage in Waubaushene, Ontario. It's one of my favourite places in the world. Every year I spend at least a week up at the cottage relaxing, reading, canoeing, swimming, and, of course, eating. It's right on the waters of Georgian Bay. It's fairly rustic and has no running water. There is an outhouse out the front. The cottage only has two bedrooms but there is also a trailer and lots of room for pitching tents when the guest count ends up to be about 17 people for the weekend. There is also horseshoe pits, a compost pile, a vegetable garden, and flower gardens.
Views from the Cottage The top image is the view from the back lawn. The second is a sunset from the back lawn.
Inside the Cottage These are pictures of the inside of the cottage, the sun porch, the living room, and the kitchen.
Cottage Wildlife And we can't forget the animals and wildlife that can be seen from the cottage at all times of the year. Cattails, ducks, geese, dogs, frogs, crayfish, lily pads, water lilies, fish, humming birds, gold finches, chipmunks, squirrels, skunks, moths, bats, herons, cormorants and (unfortunately) mosquitoes!
Our Favourite Pastime Our favourite pastime at the cottage is cards! Not a day goes by when there hasn't been a couple of games played. We usually play for a penny a point. We play wild rummy, cribbage, horse collar, pass the ace, upsey downsey's, 21, and solitaire the most often! Notice all the glasses? We may also partake in a libation or two...or eight!
