Welcome to 15th Burlington Scouting's Jamboree Memories page.  A jamboree is an international, national, or provincial gathering of Scouts.  The first world jamboree was held in 1918 after founder Baden-Powell saw the advantages of a large-scale camp that would promote friendship, encourage outdoor skills, and build citizenship.  Jamborees are the Olympics of Scouting. Scouts attending meet new friends from across Canada (and around the world), try new and challenging activities, and experience everything Scouting offers.

The first national Canadian Jamborees were held near Ottawa in 1949, 1953, and 1961.  The Canadian Jamborees, or CJ's, resumed in1977 on a 4-year cycle at locations across Canada, continuing until 2001 when they went on a brief hiatus until 2007. These jamborees have attracted up to 20,000 participants.  The next CJ will be held in 2013 in Western Canada.

At 15th Burlington, we have been fortunate enough to be able to send contingents to five CJ's; 1977, 1981, 1993, 1997, 2001, and 2007. Contained in these pages are a few snapshots of some memorable moments with our Troop and Company at these milestone events.  We invite you to explore our Jamboree Memories pages and join us in remembering the fun and fellowship of these events.
