Dowse/Douse Family

My Dowse ancestors lived in Pinchbeck & Billinghay in the district of Spalding as well as Sleaford in South Kyme District.

William Dowse was married to Mary HALL, daughter of Frances HALL, in 1767. They had seven children:

  • William
  • Ann was married to William MERRYWEATHER.
  • John
  • Sarah was married to John SKELTON.
  • Thomas* (1779-1862)
  • Susannah was married to George HORNBUCKLE.

    • Thomas Dowse was married to Elizabeth MASON, daughter William & Ann MASON, in 1811. They had thirteen children:

  • Mary
  • Ann
  • Harriot was married to George HARRIS.
  • Thomas William
  • Mary Ann was married to William HORRY.
  • Matthew was married to Elizabeth [?].
  • John was married to Eliza [?].
  • Jonathan was married to Elizabeth Hall SWALLOW, daughter of Edward SWALLOW & Ann HALL.
  • Sabina was married to James BARRETT.
  • Ruth was married to William Adkin ANDREW.
  • Naomi* (1828-1907)
  • Boaz was married to Rebecca ADLING.  He married a second time to woman named Sarah Ann [?].
  • Orpah was married to William Lake, son of Benjamin LAKE & Eleanor ROBSON.

    • Naomi Dowse was married to John LAKE in 1858.
