I have been camping almost since I was born. In August of 1976 my parents took me for my first camping
trip and I haven't looked back. I have brought my gear in by many different ways; canoe, kayak, foot,
car and trailer. I have roughed it in a hammock and slept in luxury in our Tentma Hall 3 room canvas tent.
And now we're really living in up in our Shrimp Trailer...I think we've earned it. ;)
People look at me like I have rocks in my head when I say I'm going camping in January, but I love it.
The weather can do what it wants, but I'm going enjoy it no matter what! I can put on a coat and a sweater
to be as comfortable as I am at home, but there's nothing I can do to the house to make it feel like camping.
There's just something about being outdoors...it exhilarates me. I have never been on a camping trip I didn't
enjoy. As they say:
A bad day camping is better than a good day at work!
I have been extremely lucky in my life; meeting people (and being born into a family) who love to camp. I have
camped all over Ontario, out to the East Coast and through the U.S.
Been through every time of weather imaginable, I've seen rain, snow, sleet, hail, a tornado and yes even a
little sun.
