Charles Milne and Elspet Ross

and Their Descendants

From Aberdeenshire to Wentworth County

Charles Milne and Elspet Ross were married on December 13, 1831 in Premnay Parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland and resided in nearby Leslie Parish. They emigrated to what is now Wentworth County, Ontario ca 1844 with their children: Margaret, John, Alexander, Robert and Charles. Three more children: George, William and James, were born in Wentworth County.

A Gathering of the Clan

In June 2002, a reunion brought together seventy-five descendants of four of those children. They came to Ontario from British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Arizona, Florida, Illinois and Michigan. Of the children whose lines were not represented at the reunion, one son died with no surviving descendants, and three sons moved to Michigan and have not yet been traced.
