Yoga Classes

   Beginner 1

If you've never attended a yoga class before, come and join us and discover the joy of yoga.

              Beginner 2 and Intermediate

These classes are suitable to those who have attended yoga classes before and wish to continue their discovery.

Yoga For 50+/Gentle Intermediate

This is a gentle class that is geared for students in older bodies. Learn to breath, relax and ease tension.

Lunch Time Yoga

A 45 minute class combining basic hatha and restorative poses to provide gentle stretching and relaxation for releasing tension and restoring the body and the mind. This will prepare you to face the rest of the day with a calmer and more open approach.

 

Belly Dancing

Develop grace and strength through this ancient and sensuous dance.

Learn basic movement and combinations. A great way to get fit.

 

Meditation

The classes incorporate the essence of the ancient traditions in a non

religious easy accessible form. They involve learning simple techniques that help one to experience the inherent calm and clarity that exists within each of us. Students will learn to incorporate this awareness into everyday living. Classes are suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators.

Yin Yoga

Is an inward practice of seated and reclining poses held for 3 - 5 minutes that work the hips, pelvis and lower spine of the body. The long held poses stimulate connective tissues (ligaments, tendons and fascia) which creates more flexibility in the joints than a traditional "yang" or muscular tissue practice which focuses more on movements which stress the fibers of the muscles.

The yoga postures found in a yin practice can also be beneficial to the entire body due to the effects on the meridians of the body as found in traditional Chinese medicine. A yin yoga class is a welcome complement to a more active "yang" style of yoga or athletics

that emphasize the lengthening and contracting of the muscles. Some yoga experience is suggested.

 

Emotional Freedom Techniques - (E.F.T.) or Meridian Tapping Therapy.

 

This is a self healing approach; based on the view that the body and mind are inextricably intertwined, and healing happens in both areas. The theory behind this technique is that old emotional wounds are stored in the body as blocked energetic patterns. Stimulating energy point’s removes the disturbance; allowing our body/mind system to process the troubling problem. As the energy is brought into balance, worrisome thoughts and memories about upsetting circumstances change, and negative emotions diminish.

It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s fun. I hope you join us and learn that the power of your subconscious mind is beyond all measures. You will be amazed and delighted; to discover that forces within you;. will be released and lead to the results you’ve desired.

The first week we will learn the why and how; and begin to create our future. There will be something for everyone each week. Join us, and change your life forever.

 


The Humanistic Yoga Centre Fees

·      Class fees include HST

·      10% Student Discount.

·      10% Second class or family member discount.

·       You are welcome to join at anytime - classes will be pro rated for remaining classes.

·      Registration cannot be taken without payment or deposit. (Post-dated cheques are acceptable.)

·       Registration is required, if registration is low – classes may be postponed or cancelled.

·      Missed classes must be made up during the term provided there is space. If you are making up a class make sure that the class is running and that it is not full.

·      Drop in Fee:$19

·      10 Class Card - $170.00( Valid for 1 year )

·      We accept cash, cheques, Visa and MasterCard.

·      We do Yoga - we’re flexible.
