The original goal of the site was to use it as a way of sharing our lives with those we keep in touch with, especially in the UK. Our aim is to show where we are, what our home is like and some of the things we have done. Much of this has been captured on photographs, either digitally or on real film ( which makes it expensive to reproduce and then to send to people). By using this means we can share these pictures quickly (and relatively cheaply!).  Well some of it was completed, then our internet provider joined the now defunct @Home network and we didn't get around to recreating the site. Since then @Home is folded and we are back with a local name.  So rather than having to keep changing, we registered our own domain name: thegardenfamily.com.
