Let Us Introduce Ourselves!
We are Deborah and Gordon Graffmann. In 1974 we started showing Irish Setters, acquired our first whippet in the mid-1970's (multi Best Puppy in Group - MaGriffe's Winged Foot Whipper)and registered Vantage as an exclusive Whippet kennel in 1980. In the 1990's we added Boxers to the family.
We live on almost two acres - fenced and treed - under the Escarpment in rural Burlington, Ontario, Canada. All our dogs live together in the house with us, so temperament is paramount. Rambunctious play is the norm! Showing is our hobby and we breed to produce beautiful, quality dogs that are a joy to live with and to have a little fun in the show ring!
Many champions have been bred and owned by Vantage and we have incorporated bloodlines from top producing successful kennels around the world to enhance our efforts.
We started showing Boxers in 1991 and finished our first Champion in the Spring of 1992....Champion Donaby's Vantage Switch; "Reggie" won over the whippets and our hearts and we were hooked!
We obtained our foundation breeding stock from Eleanor Foley....Champion Elharlen's Going Places, "Aspen" and Champion Elharlen's Kausin A Comotion, "Fargo". Fargo is now living in luxury with our friends in Argentina and contributing to their breeding program.
In 1999 we were delighted to meet the renowned Argentinean Boxer breeders Claudia Gotanegra and her husband Raul Benavides. Claudia and Raul produced the first World Show Boxer Champion in 1993, Argentine Champion Blue Moon of Willsam's.
Claudia and Raul honored us with a visit in 1999 and brought the 1998 Top Argentine Boxer "Xigma", Argentine/Uruguay/International/Canadian Champion Xigma Canadian of Willsam's, with them and a half-sister to Xigma called 'Estrella', Champion Estrella Bunker of Willsam's. We finished Xigma's Canadian Championship and bred her to Can Ch. Bellcrest's Worth The Wait "Ridge". "Velvet", Velvet Sensation of Willsam's, our first seal brindle, and a daughter of Xigma and Ridge, arrived here in late February 2000 from Argentina.
